“If you truly believe in the value of life, care about all of the weakest and most vulnerable members of society” -Joni Eareckson Tada

The LaGrange community revers the values of the Marquis de Lafayette, whose statue proudly welcomes you to our community from the center of the Lagrange Square. His moto was “cur non?” which means “why not?” Why not have an Accessible Athletic Complex with a Miracle League Field, Inclusive Playground, and Multipurpose Field in LaGrange to serve Troup County and the surrounding areas?

Collaboration between the Miracle League of LaGrange, Callaway Foundation, Lafayette Christian School, and many corporate, business and individual sponsors is making that possible!

The Accessible, Inclusive Athletic Complex will be a part of the 50- acre Lafayette Christian School Athletic Complex and adjacent to the existing Phase I of that complex. The stadium with track; fieldhouse with concessions, locker rooms and restrooms; and ample parking are already being used for school, community and regional events. The complex has hosted Regional Cross County competitions, State and All-Star Football and Soccer games, and WinShape Camps for Communities. The entrance for the Accessible Athletic Complex will be from Tom Hall Parkway, just down from Great Wolf Lodge.

The Accessible, Inclusive Athletic Complex will include:

Miracle League Field:

Since many barriers for these children arise from natural grass fields used in conventional youth leagues, Miracle League teams play on a custom-developed, rubberized field that accommodates wheelchairs and other mobility devices while helping to prevent injuries.

Inclusive Playground:

The inclusive playground goes beyond minimum ADA requirements. It is intentionally and thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of ALL users – of all ages and all abilities. The inclusive playground is accessible to users with physical disabilities, but also include design considerations for children with learning disabilities, sensory processing disorders, Autism, Down Syndrome, and children without disabilities. The Miracle League inclusive playground makes a powerful community statement about inclusion.

Multi-purpose Field:

The multi-purpose filed is designed for softball and baseball. It can be used for traditional games and Alternative Baseball which serves teens and adults with autism and other special needs through baseball played on a grass & dirt field. Wounded Warrior games will also be played on this field.

Convenient Entrance:

The entrance to the Accessible, Inclusive Athletic Complex is from Tom Hall Parkway, just north of Great Wolf Lodge.
